The ECU CONNECT Early Success System is a key initiative in promoting student retention and success at East Carolina University. Through ECU CONNECT, instructors can recognize students’ achievements with “Kudos“, recommend campus resources with “Referrals“, or raise concerns about their academic performance with “Flags,” all of which send notifications directly to the student’s ECU email. Once a student receives an ECU CONNECT email, student success staff reach out to provide personalized support, connecting the student with the appropriate campus resources. This proactive strategy helps address potential challenges before they affect the student’s well-being and contributes to improved student outcomes by fostering a supportive environment that promotes persistence, engagement, and success throughout their academic journey. Additionally, the ECU CONNECT platform offers students’ seamless access to essential success resources designed to enhance their academic experience.
