ECU CONNECT
What is ECU CONNECT?
ECU CONNECT (formerly Starfish) is a communications tool used by faculty to support student academic success. ECU CONNECT enables instructors to provide praise or raise concerns regarding their students’ academic performance. Referred to as “Kudos” and “Flags”, these notifications are sent to the students’ ECU email account. Students should communicate with their faculty member about any concerns or questions they have regarding the notification raised. In addition, a university support network has access to the notifications and provides outreach to students as needed.
Updates:
- You can now access ECU CONNECT through Pirate Port. You will need to search Pirate Port (top) for the application box.
- Preferred names and pronouns are now appearing in ECU CONNECT if listed Pirate Port/My Information. It will also be how the student is addressed in the Starfish emails.
Progress Survey Dates:
Instructors will have an opportunity to complete ECU CONNECT course Progress Surveys. Progress Survey Dates for spring 2024 are:
Undergraduate:
- Tuesday, January 9th
- February 5th
- March 4th
- April 1st
Graduate:
- February 12th
- March 11th
- April 8th
We ask that the survey is completed as soon as possible once received. Once you complete a survey, you will not be able to raise notifications again in this survey method until the next survey is released. Instructors can always raise a notifications through ECU CONNECT > Students > MyStudents. See Instructor and Advisor page for more information.
